Zara Toms – Owner and Founder, Zara Toms Art
Client Profile: Zara Toms Art is a well-established art tutorial business, offering subscription-based access to her video tutorials across three categories: acrylic, graphite, and pastels. Zara’s clients enjoy the flexibility of learning at their own pace, with access to high-quality instructional videos that cater to various skill levels.
Client’s Objective: Zara came to us seeking a more robust and user-friendly platform than Patreon to better serve her growing community of art learners. While Patreon had worked for a time, its limitations became apparent, especially in terms of user experience and functionality for her business model. Zara needed a bespoke solution that would allow her to offer a tailored, seamless service, giving her clients better access to her courses, tutorials, and community features.
Project Scope: We built Zara Tom’s Art a brand-new WordPress website using the MemberPress plugin, which allowed us to create a subscription-based platform where users can sign up, access various learning courses, and track their progress. Zara uploaded all of her existing courses and tutorials to the site, offering her clients a more flexible and personalised experience. The new platform also included a community forum, where Zara can interact with her members, and where users can share their work and engage in discussions.
Additionally, we ensured the site was built with SEO in mind, making it easier for potential clients to find Zara’s tutorials and art courses online. The website was designed to grow alongside Zara’s business, allowing for easy addition of future content and features.
Future Prospects: Zara plans to gradually phase out Patreon, with the goal of transitioning her entire community to her new website. Over time, the website will evolve to include more features, and Zara will continue to build a stronger, more personal connection with her subscribers. We also set up a monthly maintenance plan to ensure that Zara’s site remains up-to-date and to offer ongoing support to both her and her clients as her business grows.
Conclusion: By transitioning from Patreon to a tailored website, Zara now has full control over her platform, offering a more personalised service to her clients. The website provides the flexibility and scalability she needs for her growing business, with a community-focused space that fosters connection and engagement. Zara Tom’s Art is now better equipped to provide an exceptional learning experience for her subscribers, with the support needed to continue growing her business.
